Mahendra Singh MS Dhoni Former Indian cricket captain has announced his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday at the age of 39.

Dhoni announced his retirement in a post on social network Instagram.He wrote a message on Instagram thanking everyone. He captained India in 2007 and has not played international cricket since the 2019 World Cup.

“Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” Dhoni wrote on his Instagram.

MS Dhoni, who played a key role in India’s 2011 World Cup win, announced his retirement from international cricket on Monday, after serving Indian cricket for 16 long years.

MS Dhoni retires as Indian cricket’s most successful captain in limited-over internationals, having won three ICC trophies – 2007 T20 World Cup, 50-over World Cup in 2011 and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He last played international cricket during the semifinal of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in which India lost to New Zealand.

Dhoni did not play international cricket for India after the 2019 World Cup. Legendary Indian cricketer Dhoni has played 332 games for India in all formats. In which they have won 178 games.

Dhoni has led India to 110 wins in 200 ODIs under his captaincy. Dhoni, who made his debut for India in 2004, stopped playing Test cricket in 2014. Despite retiring from international cricket, the 39-year-old, however, will be available for overseas franchise-based leagues.

Dhoni ends his ODI career with 10 thousand and seven hundred seventy-three runs, scored at an average of 50.57 in 350 matches. He has 10 centuries and 73 half-centuries to his name. He also represented India in 90 Test matches and 98 T20Is. He still remains India’s most successful captain across all formats in terms of matches won.

MS Dhoni left the Test captaincy on December 30, 2014, and the ODI captaincy in January 2017. Dhoni plays for the Indian Premier League (IPL) Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni is also the captain of Chennai.
